Here is an explanation of the types of Bidding and bidding settings that you will use on our site.
|
Auto Bids |
Use Auto Bid to have Mr. Coinshop bid for you in our auctions.
By bidding as much as you want to spend and using an auto bid, Mr. Coinshop will
automatically place a bid at the next increment up to your maximum bid, if someone bids more than the current bid and
less than your Auto Bid.
Auto bids will also automatically advance the bidding to the level of the reserve
or your maximum Auto bid. Whichever is lower.
For example:
You are bidding on an item that is currently at $.99. Using auto bid you place your bid maximum at $5.00 (the most you are willing to pay for that item)
Your first bid placed by the auto-bidder will be $.99. If someone else bids on the item and lets say they bid $1.25, the auto-bidder will place a bid automatically for you at $1.30, you remain the high bidder. If someone then bids $5.25, this amount being higher than your maximum bid, they will be the NEW high bidder, and you will have to place a new HIGHER maximum bid if you are still interested in the item.

|
Regular Bids |
A Regular Bid is a standard in auction bidding. The amount that you place into
this field will be the amount of the bid that you are making.
The nescessity of having to continually update your bid is a drawback to this
type of a bid.
|
|
Buy Now |
The BuyNow Price is set by the seller at the amount He/She is willing to sell
their item outright.
When an item is purchased outright using BuyNow, the bidding process is bypassed.
If there is only one item being auctioned the auction will be closed immediately.
When there are multiple items being auctioned as in a Yankee or Dutch auction,
the quantity is reduced untill there are no items left then the auction closed.
The number of BuyNow purchased is shown next to the number of bids on auction
details page.
